I got these to replace a well worn pair of LL Bean snow sneakers that I used for many years, walking in snowy woods, and on slushy winter sidewalks. That pair was very durable and comfortable, kept my feet warm and dry, and I hope these will give me the same great mileage. Out of stock on the Bean site, and I was surprised and happy to find them at Zappos! I ordered a 1/2 size up which I typically do in sports shoes, and there’s room in the toe box for my pesky bunion.

About 10 or 15 years ago, I wore LL Bean snow sneakers for years and loved them. When they wore out, I tried to replace them at LL Bean, only to find that the snow sneakers had been completely revamped. The wide width had become the actual width of a regular width and totally worthless for people with wide feet or bunions. And I was not the only person to complain about the width in the reviews. So I returned the boots. This fall I decided to try them again to see if they had improved the wide width issue. Yes, they did. But the style of the boot has been revamped again with very poor quality material on the uppers. The boot material on the uppers is so thin that there is virtually no support whatsoever around the ankles. In snowy or icy conditions, these boots are a sprained ankle waiting to happen. So I will be returning this pair as well. Please LL Bean, bring back the original snow sneakers where the wide width was really a wide width and the boot material had good support around the ankles. Very disappointed.

I sized up a full size to make room for socks and I like to be able to move my toes around. These boots felt amazing-lightweight for such a substantial boot. I also agree with the other positive comments left by other Reviewers. The one negative I would comment is that this is a substantial boot and it makes my foot look bigger than other boots. The Pros way outweigh the one negative.

I love my Snow Sneakers! I appreciate that they come in Wide. They are warm, have great tread for our mountain snow and ice, and fit perfectly. I will be buying a second pair.
Lynn –
Very rubbery sole that is completely non slippery!! Love, love them. Perfect in shallow snow and comfy warm.
Renee –
I’m glad of the size 9 that fits me good. The boots are comfortable with thick socks on.
Josie –
Ample room for toes in this wider width, even with thicker socks. Boot also kept feet warm, and bottom grip was good in snowy weather.

At first these sneakers hurt my shin bone. I stopped lacing them up to the top eyelet and kept wearing them. As the tung has become more flexible, I can now tie them tight. They are very warm, water repellent and very comfortable. I will be purchasing more when these wear out. LOVE THEM!!

These shoes have been wonderful for my morning walks in the winter in the midwest so I don’t have to wear my bulky boots. They keep my feet warm and dry and have great traction. I even recently walked in -8 F (-25F Real Feel) temp and my toes did not go numb. I wear an 8 and had on medium thick sock and this shoe is snug on my feet. If you want to wear a thicker sock, or a less tight feel, I suggest ordering either the wide width or one size up, but I didn’t feel like I needed to wear a thicker sock.

Size: I normally wear a size 9 however, my running shoes are a 9.5. I ordered the 9.5 and am very pleased with the fit. No break in time. I use them to walk my dog and when it is cold outside. My feet stay warm. Worth the $$.

I have struggled to find shoes that keep my feet warm and dry and also allow me to walk my dogs 5+ miles per day. These snow sneakers are perfect. With the distances I walk, the wrong shoes end up hurting my knees, but I can do the distance without any pain in these shoes. Love them

Love these snow sneakers! Very comfortable fit and excellent traction!
Greatboots –

MaryAnn –
Great looking snow sneaker! They are warm and comfortable. I walk 4 to 6 miles outside, usually in the snow/ice. These boots have proven themselves 100%, they seem to grip very well.
I receive a lot of compliments on the look and color. I purchased the black with blue trim boot. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Comfortable, warm, with great traction in icy conditions in northern Minnesota

These snow sneakers are great in snow and on ice. In addition, to being waterproof, they are warm.

Love my snow sneakers! This is the second pair I’ve bought. I’m still wearing the first pair but have retired them to barn wear only, so I needed a new pair for walking and wearing around. I can’t remember when I bought that first pair but it’s a least 5 years ago and they’re just as comfortable now as when I first bought them.

These boots were comfortable right out of the box. My feet have taken a beating over the decades as a geologist and so I am very careful with boots and having the right fit. They are warm (I was in -33F recently) and they performed admirably (I wore a super thin liner sock and then light-midweight wool socks). They are definitely waterproof (walked in snow and ice for a couple of hours) and are very flexible. A winnner!

Comfortable and warm walking boot. Nice that it’s got a heel loop. Have been walking on icy pavement and through slushy snow, and traction has been very good. I would change the lacing loops (fabric) to metal hooks for easier adjustment of laces.
Vermont S –
These are the perfect lightweight everyday boots, so warm and cushioned. Great for running errands and dog walks. Tread is good on packed snow, would use microspikes on ice.

I purchased these after returning a recent order of the
Women’s Snow Sneakers 4 with Arctic Grip, Mid Lace-Up. I tried to break the Arctic Grip sneakers in for two weeks of short walks (2 – 3 Miles) they were uncomfortable from the start, and although reviews said they were stiff and uncomfortable around the top, I thought people were just tying them too tightly. After 2 weeks of short walks I went for my normal 8 mile walk, and by mile 4 I was loosening the laces to the point they weren’t even tied at the top. They still pinched so much that I was in pain for the 2nd half of my walk. When I received these new sneakers, I could tell just by the cushioning around the top they would be more comfortable. I wore them on a 2 mile walk with my dog, and they felt so good, I went for a 9 mile power walk right after, and had a great walk! They never pinched, chaffed, or caused any discomfort. They were warm, cozy and extremely comfortable, which is of utmost importance to me. The Arctic Grip was more sneaker than I needed. I am not walking in icy conditions, but at times, I am walking in extreme cold, other times wet and slushy. I just wanted a warm, comfortable, waterproof sneaker for those conditions, and these sneakers are just what I needed.

These boots are exactly what I needed for being outdoors in the winter. I always have cold feet and wool socks never seem to keep my feet warm with my other shoes. These boots are super warm and the fit was perfect for me. The only issue I had was that the tongue was a bit stiff at first and they were a little uncomfortable on my ankle while driving at first. That went away fairly quickly and now they feel great. I am so happy I found these!
Sandra B –
Love my snow sneakers! Ordered both the boots and sneakers in same size I had previously but had to exchange for a half size larger and a wide. Both the boots and sneakers are not as tall as they used to be either. The new size fit perfectly. I still love them and they are very warm for our Chicago winters!

I normally wear women’s 8.5. I ordered these in a 9 so I could wear heavier socks. They are a tiny bit big but very comfortable and warm.

Winter Greetings~
The Snow Sneakers are awesome – very light weight compared to heavier boots; yet, very stable and secure walking on the snow with the excellent tread.
These are a hit and worth every penny for quality boots/sneakers!
I am very pleased with my purchase and have a blessed day~
