Waited a month to do the review, and glad I did. I’m 5’11” 210lbs with broad shoulders. In general, I’m usually between Large and XL. I went the XL because it was advertised as a slim fit. Trying it on the first time, it was sort of a tent: too baggy. But after washing it and drying it a few times (on gentle cycle, and low heat), it’s shrunk just a bit and fits perfectly. Really glad I went with the XL. The large would have fit out of the box, but the XL makes washing and drying stress free. It’s super soft and comfortable. The only other note, the website picture makes the Dark Mariner look blue and red, with slight rust and white. Whereas in real life the rust color is prominent, and the blue and red more subdued.

My cousin has one of these shirts that he has been wearing for nearly 20 years. After I had repaired buttonholes and replaced buttons for him twice, the shirt finally began to get very thin at the elbows. Okay, 20 years is such a great last that I’m giving him a replacement for Christmas this year.

I’ve been wanting to love LL Bean for years, but could never find shirts that fit well. I’m 5’9 150-155 and have had issues with medium being too wide and small being too short. The “slim” medium shirts fit perfectly. I have almost every color of these now. They are a heavier weight but not “heavy weight”. They don’t want to crease or wrinkle at the bottom like other flannels. The collar doesn’t have stays, but “stays” put. I’m really impressed with the attention to detail.

This my fourth Signature Heritage Textured Flannel shirt. I ordered more in patterns and colors that I liked after the first purchase. I like the slim fit and they go extremely well with long sleeved Henley’s. They are warm and comfortable. I’ll likely get another one if I can find the right color pattern.
