Alexis –
I got this sweater in the black pattern. It is very soft, perfect for 3 seasons in New York. I am 5’6 156 lbs got Medium. Its worth the money, Im getting the other color as well before it sells out! It happens my birthday is coming up!
Meg518 –
I have a thing for merino, so couldn’t wait to buy this sweater. I was trying to decide between small and medium based on past experience, and had the opportunity to go try it in person. To my surprise, I ended up taking home the large to make sure I still have some wiggle room after washing. It seems LLBean has adjusted their sizing in the last season or two so that the size charts are more reliable. So while I still have S and even XS LLBean sweaters from past seasons that fit perfectly, my newer items are typically medium. Just be aware, if you are accustomed to buying a smaller size in this brand.
JRKCMO –
Loved this sweater bit it fit me weird. Large armholes and the sleeves were wide.
Dee D –
Great fit and detail in this sweater. You have to see this sweater in person to appreciate it. You could tell its quality and I love it.
JRKCMO –
Pretty sweater. Nice fabric. But the armholes fit was too large. Maybe its me not the sweater.
Nutmegger –
This sweater is warm, looks nice and fits well — however, I question whether it actually is “100% extra fine merino wool” as the tag states, because it started to pill right away, and the texture of the wool isn’t like any other merino wool sweater I’ve had. Normal merino wool does not pill – that is one of its selling points, so I was disappointed with this expensive purchase.
Delacroix –
cut the tags, put it on and it is too big. I am a small and did not see that this item comes in XSm.
Jenj –
I really like the look of this sweater, but the material was already shedding and pilling when it arrived. It looked like someone had worn it several times already. I bought the other color and will keep that one, in the hopes that the white color won’t show the pilling as much.
Anon –
Nice design but a thin sweater. Previous year’s LLBean Dec catalogue sweaters were more substantial. No choices like that this year. 🙁
Heather –
I received this sweater as a gift for christmas and I fell in love but sadly I was only able to wear it once. I washed it in cold water on the delicate cycle and it shrank to an unwearable childs size. Now I might as well throw this beautiful $140 sweater in the trash or donate it to a 6 year old.
Birdseye –
I love this sweater, but unhappy that it doesn’t come in TALL.
Dennie –
not going to lie I recently purchase this sweater and was disappointed. The color looked like it was bright white on line and it is more creamy colored. If i saw this in store probably wouldn’t have brought it.
No T –
Warm and soft – a pleasure to wear. Runs just a tad big.
Alicat –
Beautiful sweater! It is not heavy but it is very warm. Definitely only for cold weather. A few comments about the upper arms and shoulder area being too big or roomy; I am a fairly thinly built person and I did NOT feel it was too roomy in these areas. If anything, it was perfect in that many sweaters are way too tight in the shoulders and upper arm area for women. It did not look baggy or weird. Purchase it. You will be happy!
Sharon –
I was disappointed because it was so thin and I could see through it to the blouse underneath. This is not a picture of the one I purchased. Mine was red, blue, yellow pattern.
Kimb –
This sweater runs smaller than other L.L. Bean, sweaters that I purchased. I ordered this sweater in a size small and I should have probably got a medium, although other L.L. Bean sweaters fit in a size small or even extra small. Sweater was thin and novelty is a good description. It is Marina wool, and it is soft, And I’m not sure how it holds up because all I did was try it on and send it back. I wasn’t impressed with the quality especially for the price. I wasn’t impressed with the design or the function, because it was very thin and loosely woven. If you like it and you don’t know what else to buy for yourself buy this one but size up.
Theresa –
Weird fit, tight through shoulders and quality not up to price point, sadly returning
Maria –
I like this sweater a lot. It fits well and is very warm and stylish. I ordered the XS and it fits just right, but if you like something looser order a size up.
CatLady –
The bright pattern on the white background was so pretty. I really wanted to love this sweater, but it wasn’t flattering. The medium was too small and large was too boxy. Returned to the store. I hope they’ll keep this color/pattern scheme in mind for a different product.
Better S –
I really wanted a wool sweater, tried a couple that cost less, but one was bulky, one was scratchy, and this sweater, though pricey for me, was soft, warm, and so compact that it fit easily under my winter coat. That said, the fit was perplexing for a Large–sort of close fitting in the torso, but big on my shoulders. And now that I see one reviewer saying that hers shrank in the wash, I wonder if I’ll need to dry clean it when the time comes. Still, it has the feel and look of a good sweater, something I’ll wear often.
Carol –
Classy sweater for winter weather. I love the fit and cashmere. It is a stable for cold weather.
Laurie –
This wool sweater was obviously washed, shrunk to child sized, returned and re-sold! No labels on it and thick as felt. Shame on Zappos!!
Northeast –
I bought this in-store and was immediately drawn to the colors and pattern on the sweater. It looks like an heirloom piece and I hope to keep it for many years. The sweater is soft and thin but still warm and well-constructed. I bought a size M which luckily fits perfectly (I only eyeballed it in the store and it looked about right). As this is merino wool, I will hand wash and air dry it to avoid shrinkage, as the fit is perfect. I am 5’2″, 145 lbs for reference.
Tillie –
Fits well, get compliments, warm but not hot. Looks good with silver-colored hair.
Olive –
A little snug, but really nice weight and look. Love it.
