These no fly zone pants work well in my garden and pasture. I am new to the deep south and chiggers, and I have not experienced them yet.
The fit is good, I’m 5′-6″, 150 lbs, over 65. The waist band holds the pants up very well, as I am an apple shape, with no butt. Yet the waist band folds over and cuts like a knife into my soft belly flab and over my hips.

I had to send the original pants back as I have lost weight and was unable to guess my size. The smaller pants look very trim and are great for hiking in an area where there are many ticks.

I love these pants. The size and length were perfect. They are super lightweight, very comfortable to wear and my phone will even fit in the side zippered pocket which is a first. Plus they keep the bugs off. I’ve ordered a second pair.

I purchased these pants for gardening, to combat the tick problem. I wear the pants tucked into my boots, and I have sprayed the boots with insect repellent. When wearing this protective clothing, I have not found a single tick on myself. This is a great addition to my wardrobe. I will doubtless also wear them for camping. The size 4 was a perfect fit. I am 5’3″ and weigh 108 pounds.

They fit a little large, but that’s the only thing “wrong”. They are light weight and quick drying, which is great for summer and look nice enough to wear “off the trails”.
So far I haven’t had one tick! That alone makes them so worth it.
Only suggestion would be to put a thigh pocket on both sides. Left-handers would be grateful.

Nice quality lightweight pants that fit true to size. The insect repellant seems to work well. Good size pockets. I would have preferred a slightly more fitted leg – these are straight leg, exactly as described – but a slightly fitted ankle would look better and keep plants and insects off.

Wish I had tried these before this summer. I get chigger bites every time I am in my yard in central Ohio. By wearing these pants and some Insect Shield socks, I have not gotten any of those awful itchy bites!

I have been buying these for years. I usually only wear 100% cotton, but these are so soft and so comfortable. Also I have worn them for years, even after they developed holes in the knees (gardening). They wash and wear and I never have to iron them. This is my 4th pair and probably won’t be my last!

I am apple shaped (more belly than legs and bottom) and these just didn’t fit right for me. I love the No Fly Zone shirt I bought last year and wanted a pair of pants to keep all the bugs away. No go, the seat and thighs were very large on me and the waist was snug and cutting. I could have worn them but certainly not comfortably. I love LL Bean but a lot of their pants/jeans/shorts are built for the hourglass lady, not the apple-y lady.

Good pants and it’s very nice to have them pre-treated and not have to soak in permethrin every month. But I sure wish you’d bring back the cargo pants with the extra pockets and the elastic at the bottom. I need more pockets! The elastic was great for hiking. (Or make the mountain pants in an insect shield version!)
