I bought my husband one of these in grey. This one was a gift for his son. I have one myself. They are made well of substantial material. They really do keep the mosquitos off, which is a big deal where we camp here in Idaho. They are light enough to wear all day in the sun and double as a sun screen to keep the sunburn away. They breathe well and I like mine for hiking. I got the blue for my step-son to wear while fly fishing (blend in with the sky) and it is a beautiful color. True to size, my husband is always a regular large in Bean and shirt is roomy on his son.

I picked this up on a sale so the price was better than std. I wear this all the time out in the yard and when I am fishing: bugs leave me a lone and I have had NOT one bite!! <3 I liked it so much I got the cap, hoodie and the jacket as well. Even in upper 80's I wear it rather than getting bit! I found myself using these so much I just ordered another shirt and another hoodie! Well, the items being on card member is also a bonus since we get unique sales and even extra $10 for spending so which are good for a month or so. I've gotten splatter and other staining potential things on these garments and it washes right off. Doesn't retain any fish odors or human smells either. Try these out and you will enjoy a bite free time outside. Love mine. <3 YMMV.

I bought two of these shirts for my husband to wear when he goes out to work on the lawn and in the garden. He seems to attract insects even if he sprays up before going outside. He has tried his shirts and absolutely loves them. I haven’t heard any complaints about bugs since he started using them. I’ll probably have to order a couple more to extend his outdoor wardrobe a little!

Well made comfortable product that I wear year around. Originally purchased to keep bugs off me while fishing in the dark. Works to my knowledge. If I get bit it is the areas that aren’t covered.
Breathes well and dries quicker then natural fabrics. I own a few of the grey and one each other color.
Try them for any outside use or inside,too. YMMV.

If anything, these seem to run just a bit large, but that wasn’t a problem for either of the guys.

Effectively repels ticks. The only occasion that I have discovered ticks on me is when I am not wearing this tee shirt in conjunction with other LL Bean permethrin clothing. I am outdoors year round and have even found ticks below the snow pack in February. This comfortable clothing keeps ticks away year round. Can be worn as a layer or simply by itself. Soft, rugged fabric, that stands up to many washings but most importantly it works. Easier and more effective than self treating clothing with permethrin spray. This is the best.

These LL Bean Insect Shield Long sleeve T’s are supremely comfortable. This T plus ripstop hiking pants (not cargoes) and my hiking boots are a daily outfit in my retirement. I live in Arizona, flies and mosquitoes are not in abundance but still can be a nuisance. The Insect Shield T gives me peace of mind and one less thing to spray on my body. I am going to Jamaica in 3 weeks and having been there before with “bug spray” I know my trip will be great. I know that I will get soaked and that these T’s dry quickly.

Seems to work at keeping bugs off you. It’s not perfect but better than a regular shirt. I did notice the effect of keeping bugs off seems to be less if you use a fabric softener.

I have had the “Insect Shield Field Tee Long Sleeve Men’s” (size L, color Blue) for a month (May). I am 5ft7in tall, 180lbs, and normally take XL shirts with a 32/33″ sleeve. I saw others indicate this runs a bit large, so I ordered the L size, which fit me well–even with the L, the sleeves have plenty of length. The fabric is comfortable and does a good job of wicking away sweat. I use the shirt along with Bean’s “No Fly Zone Pants Regular” and “Cresta Wool No Fly Zone Sock Lightweight Crew” in an effort to avoid ticks while near daily gardening, yard work, or hiking. So far I have not seen any ticks on me or my clothing. I decided to try this “lifetime treated” clothing after several years of applying permethrin spray to clothing every 6 weeks, which while effective, was tedious and worrisome RE exposure to the liquid. Thank you to L.L.Bean for carrying the “No Fly” line, which provides one-stop shopping; none of my other go-to sources seemed to carry anything similar, and sending clothing away to be factory treated is really the only other option.

Works like a charm along with the pants and socks. Spent 3 hours in woods, meadows, and everything in between NO Ticks! NO Skeeters! NO Flies! Anything else?? NO NO NO insects of any kind. MY significant other said the shirt was actually stylish to boot. LOL.

It is bug proof! And it is surprisingly soft and breathable and cut to be kind to a few extra pounds without looking too boxy. Is it just like super cotton? No, but it’s awfully comfortable for being very bugproof
