They feel good, but the break-in period will take a little time. I like the somewhat dresser look so I won’t be wearing them every day.
Brian –
Great shoes. Fit well. Had some knee surgeries and these shoes offered me some great support.

Exchanged these shoes for different size in early December. Today is early February. Still no shoes.
Ron D –
They look great and are comfortable for a leather shoe

I’m rough on shoes and I think this shoe can handle me.

Santa brought me a pair for Christmas. I was nervous about the negative reviews but thought they looked cool. The design puts a lot of pressure on my foot at the bottom of the tongue as previously stated. Being stubborn I wore them anyways in hopes the leather would form to my feet. I’ve worn them daily for two months and the pressure is still there although it’s manageable. Either the shoe adjusted to my feet or my feet adjusted to the shoe. After only 2 months, I can already see wear on the sole which seems odd for a $150 pair of LL Bean shoes.

I really like the shoes, all except the inner soles, which start making noise after 10-15 minutes.

I like the shoes enough. The laces have already broken on the metal eyelets. I’m not entirely thrilled with the vibram sole it’s not the rubber sole I was expecting, it’s more like a really dense foam. So far the shoes are comfortable and the fit seems about right.
Spot –
I got these shoes around the first of the year specifically for the Vibram soles and the tread is almost worn off, I am on carpeted cement at work and on my feet 75% of the day, the laces did not last either due to poor quality or sharp eyelet holes, uppers seem well made and they were great at first, broke in easy and comfortable, good support, if they had a tread that did not wear off like a pencil eraser they would be awesome shoes, I might see if I can get them resoled with a better tread.
Perspective –
Purchased these shoes a few months ago and wear them to work (office environment) several days a week. I love the construction of the shoe. They seem really well built. I like how the inside is mostly leather. The shoes I’ve had with lots of fabric surfaces inside wear thru really fast for me. Because of the leather construction and stiff soles, you do have to wear them in but they do get comfy. Also, I noticed some folks complain about a clicking noise while walking. I did experience this on occasion but realized it was the shoe lace ends bouncing off the leather. This has appeared to go away with the softening of the leather and depending on the pants I am wearing. Very happy with these shoes.

High quality , took a few days to ‘break-in m’
Actually caused sore spots on my upper foot at ankle on first time wearing; but swapping use and shorter weare time allowed a break in and now they feel great. P

This pair of shoes not only very nice, they provide good arch support that I need and they are a very comfortable fit. I use a mink oil rub to keep the leather looking fresh and to avoid cracking from excessive exposure to the elements. Walking is a real comfort in these shoes.

A good shoe for outdoor work or casual wear. Looks great with jeans.

I love these shoes. They are comfortable, and they are perfect for casual days at the office as well as several outdoor events. The insoles are not glued, so they squeak. I suspect I could do something about it, but I have not tried, WARNING: Do not purchase if you intend to use them for cat burglaries or deep investigative work!
Detritus –
Well built, and I like the looks, but they’re very stiff. Even the tongue is stiff and rides too high up the front of the ankle. These shoes will require some serious break-in time in order to make them wearable for extended periods. But, I have no doubt they’ll be durable.

I’ve had these shoes for about one month. I have worn similar shoes from Doc Marten, but their quality just went downhill. I’ve tried these and for the most part, they are good, solid comfortable shoes. My complaint is that in one of the shoes, I can feel a piece of metal plating which is below my foot, built into the actual sole of the shoe. Feeling this plate is sometimes uncomfortable. Additionally, one of the shoes “squeaks” when I walk, which was a problem that I heard about from other purchasers before I got my pair. I plan to buy a Dr Scholle shoe cushion this weekend and alleviate part of the problem.

I saw these on a guy, tracked them to LL Bean and bought a pair in my size. Ok. They look so cool. Once I put them on, I felt like a kid again — not in a good way, but in the way you felt when you were a kid and got church shoes and they never fit right, were too big, and were stiff and too thick to even bend and you got blisters… That’s these shoes.
Nate –
show itself is nice. Generous toe box, and I like the style of the shoe. Sizing is what you would expect. But as others have commented, the shoelaces are absolute garbage. I have only worn them occasionally so far, and already both shoelaces look like they are about to fail at the top eyelets. I don’t know why they don’t address this. It is a simple fix. One I unfortunately will be fixing myself.

Have 2 pair and sole wore out but shoe is just getting broken in. My favorite everyday shoe they need to do a good rubber sole and not foam.
Steve –
Bought as outdoor work shoe. Unusually narrow, barely enough material on the sides to lace up and pull to cover the tongue. Won’t be able to wear with winter socks. LL Bean stamped right on top of tongue shows up like a billboard

Bought a pair of these shoes about 3 months ago. They looked great, and fit was comfortable. My main concern was that the left shoe “squeaked” each time I took a step. It felt like the piece of metal embedded in the sole, just below my foot was loose or just making noise. I am happy to report that after 3 months the squeaking stopped and the shoes are as quiet as all others.

These shoes were too large for me. The tongues were also a bit too long and stiff enough to push into the front of my ankle when I tried to walk in them. Needless to say, I found them uncomfortable and will return them.

It feels well made and durable. The cut around the ankle was uncomfortable for my foot. Maybe better once it’s broken in, but really stiff. Size and fit was OK for me, and I love the look.
Joe –
Great looking leather oxfords. And comfortable too! Got both colors so I won’t be left w/o a choice! Lols!
