I've had 4 of these model boots over my 50 years of being a loyal Beans customer. Very disappointed in their new offering. The new version now sold as their low cut Bean boot has no heal grabbing tools since it doesn't narrow at the heal, wrap the ankle with the padded collar any more, or have as high a front lacing/closure set up. You can probably pull the laces very tight, but then they would cut your instep and rub your heal. They're more like slippers than useful outdoor shoes. The heels are now nearly vertical and don't hold the heel down when walking. The laces are further forward and lower so the laces don't hold the foot in the shoe but allow it to work more like a slipper and flip flop off on each step. The laces look like they might tighten the heel, if tied tightly enough, but since the shoe body is stiff rubber that's not possible and if the laces were very tight they'd pinch the arch skin on each step. This is a fashion design, not an outdoor shoe. Avoid it at all cost. It's worthless.

I have a size 11 Nike shoe from Zappos. when I put on the LL Bean size 11 shoe there was 1.5″ from the back of the shoe to my heel. It says to allow for heavy socks but wow, 1.5″

Ok who is in charge of sizing these things? I know I got a big foot (men 13AAA) but this was ridiculous. The actual size is more like 15! Order 1-2 sizes smaller. I don’t think I have enough socks to make up for that much room.

Not worth the money, even though us made

These shoes are so comfortable and so easy to slip on and off.

I am a size 11. Ordered these originally as an 11, then exchanged down for a 10. Now need a 9!!!
I know that with weather boots they leave extra room for thick socks. But this is nuts! These are slip ons – for me I’m planning on using them to take the dog out in the back yard early each morning with wet grass. I want something slip on with normal athletic socks. This is a moccasin style shoe. Not a snow boot. Will now need to return these to order the smaller size as one exchange has already been made. Something to be said for trying on shoes in a store like the old days!!!

I wear a size 10 1/2 to 11 so I first bought a size 10 D. I floated in them, way to big. Returned and tried a 9 D and these were to tight. Returned and bought a 9 EE and they fit fine. Customer service was great. No hassles at all. Very happy with my purchase.

Glad to see wide widths. Seems like the only choice is medium nowadays. As stated in the description you need to go down a size. I normally wear a size 9 so had to order the size 8 and they fit perfectly.

True as always. My husband has used these boots for years with no disappointment.

My old pair of rubber mocs are starting to show the wear. I love these shoes and in the winter use them almost exclusively. They’re great in the slush and salt that’s everywhere. I can’t be without them, so the new pair is backup for the day when the old pair can no longer be used.

Thrilled to have a new pair of duck shoes in this fun jade green. The classic, with a twist. My classic brown/tan version are a regular go-to for casual run around days. They are both inimitably LL Bean!

Good fit, had to buy one size smaller as these are for working in the garden this spring

Just got mine in 2 days ago boy am I glad I ordered them He’s a great shoes for putting around the yard when there’s just a little bit of snow or rain they fit really good and they’re very comfortable I didn’t want to take them off it’s almost like having on a slipper I was suggest these for anybody they’re lightweight comfortable and they have a very good grip on the bottom Don’t let these pass you by

Great rubber moc that meets all expectations. I’m a size 12-12.5 narrow and had to move to a 10N for the right fit so don’t be surprised when you make your purchase. Typical excellent LL Bean quality you would expect.

Great fit, maybe too wide for me for my taste but it’s a non-issue.

This is a classic shoe from LL Bean! I wore my old ones for over 15 years and needed a new pair. These don’t disappoint.

Partner wears a size 13— tried two pairs, but these run very large! He’d never had a pair of rain shoes before and was quite taken with them, but after putting on the thickest socks he owns, had to admit that there’s really no way to make them work. The only way they’ll keep dry is by not wearing them ? hopefully going down a size for the third try will do the trick!

The best shoe on a rainy day is also great in a few inches of urban snow. These are indispensable and so convenient.
DrZ1 –
Outstanding boot that reminds me of my first pair in high school ~1981! They run large. Nearly every shoe (made for American customers) I wear is 9.5. Ordered the Bean in 9 and still too big with a medium sock (in between a dress and boot sock), had to get an 8. Otherwise, awesome Bean design and quality! The color scheme (olive, black, brick) is awesome and I get compliments. Highly recommend this boot!

I was looking for a Moc that I could slip on easily and these are perfect. With a thick pair of LL Bean socks they are great for light snow on the ground or on a rainy day.
TRLindWi –
These are just perfect for working in the yard or taking the dog for a walk when the ground is wet or covered in light snow. They are easy to slip on and wash off when muddy.
Kathy –
Perfect for what I needed for yard work keeps your feet dry
