I have large, wide feet for a woman (11 D) and I took the advise of previous reviews that these shoes run large and they were spot on. I just ordered a regular 11 M and these fit wonderfully even with thick socks. So yes. These do run quite large-and wide so order accordingly.
On to the performance of these shoes…the first day I got them I put them on and took the dog for a two mile walk. My feet didn’t get sore or slightly ‘blistered’ in spots like sometimes happens when you walk to far or too long in new shoes. Since then, I’ve taken a few other long walks and I’ve had no chafing, or sore spots from wearing them too long. I wear them when I run out to the store or when running errands. In the wintry Chicago weather my feet stayed warm and dry and delightfully happy in these waterproof shoes. As a side note, I love how they are made here in the USA in Maine. So cool. I got the navy/green tea color and they match my Vera Bradley Indigo Pop purse perfectly. I just love these shoes….warm liner, waterproof, splash proof and fun to wear. I just might have to get the brown/deep moss version when it comes in in February. I can imagine wearing these in the spring and while on a boat while at the lake. I recommend these highly!

I’m so glad I purchased these. I’ve worn and loved Bean Boots for years.
Last year, I started thinking that I might add a pair of Bean shoes in as well.
I’m so glad I did. The dogs don’t care if it’s rainy or muddy, they want to go for their walk . These keep you completely dry.
Also, the look adorable.
Pay attention to the sizing guidelines that LL Bean has for these. They are made to be worn with very thick heavy socks. If you are not wearing thick, heavy socks, you’ll need to size down.
My typical shoe size is a 6.5. I bought these in a 5 and the fit is perfect.

I followed the recommended sizing. I wear 7 narrow in every day shoes. The size recommendations on this site for thes shoes said go a size smaller and mine fit like a glove. Stable stepping with good support. Room for my lift as well. I bought these to slip into when stepping out into my forested backyard and run out to get the mail.

I just bought a new pair of Bean Rubber Mocs. This is my second pair. My first pair is 10-1/2 years old and I am still wearing them as I have almost every day for that long. I wear them when working around the yard for almost everything as well as just a quick run to the road to pick up mail and newspaper. I never garden without them on no matter how warm it is (barefoot then), and I wear them in the winter whenever the snow isn't over the top (with heavy socks). I can't say enough how much I love my Bean boots. Worth every penny! My new pair will look great to go anywhere. The size is exactly the same and the new ones feel the same as the old. I wear a 6-1/2 wide or a 7 regular in shoes. I bought size 6 medium. You can trust the advice to buy a size smaller.

These are perfect. I had read some of the reviews that they are too wide. In the box, there was a brochure explaining that they are made to be worn with thick socks. So remember that when purchasing. I love these shoes the fit is perfect and I love the style. These are classics.

Wow, love these classic shoes that have been around for a long time. They are so comfortable and perfect for the rainy weather down here in Fla. Also, working in the garden except they look so nice I don’t know if I want to get them dirty now, lol. They are true to size, comfortable, and again what a classic shoe.

A full size larger. I wear an 8 in flats and boots. I wear an 8.5 in heels.
I’ve never had a size 8 be so large. I’d order a 7 next time.
DW –
The size is supposed to be narrow, and it is… through the front of the foot, but the heel is way too wide. I can’t keep my heel in the shoe.

runs very large for a narrow

I Normally wear a Size 7.5 shoe/boot
I have a wide foot so I always need a: (Wide) D :: ::
IMPORTANT: YOU NEED TO ORDER A FULL SIZE DOWN : : :
I ORDERED/WEAR A SIZE: 6 D IN THIS RUBBER MOC
This is my 2nd pair. They are perfect for morning walks in the field with my dog, keeping my feet warm and dry from the dew. I wear them in the mud, rain and sometimes just slip them on for a walk around the block instead of my sneakers. Yes, they are that good and comfortable.
I originally ordered a size 7D for my first pair. Too long and swimming on the width for me. I then ordered a size 6D. Perfect fit. I wear them with heavily padded running socks (Tho-Lor) which overall, gives me a great fit.
I have a wide foot, high arch as well as a high instep and find (unlike other brands) that these give me no problems in any of those areas. There are plenty of brand boots/shoes/slides that I cannot even get my feet into because of my instep. The LLBean Rubber Mocs have an instep leather flap that can be tightened or loosened by adjusting the laces. I have also (with my last pair) replaced the insole with an Ortholite insole, extending the life of wearing them. The only reason I have had to replace these is because I've worn down the heel completely after 2 years of constant wear and tear.
I love these so much that I'm buying my husband a pair. Thank you LLBean! (Photos are after my first walk in the wet field this morning.) Recommend 100% and don't forget to ORDER A SIZE DOWN.

They are either too big or a bit too short. They are not made as well as they were years ago.

I didn’t believe you when you recommended going a size down & ordered my regular size. I should have just followed your instructions, I would have been wearing them a week sooner. I love shoes, wear them all around my hillside acres. They handle slopes, mud, easy on & off, I’ve had similar rubber Mocs before, but treated myself to the best this time and they are definitely worth the price considering the quality. I appreciate that the leather ties are not just decorative but actually work to tighten or loosen depending on the thickness of the socks I’m wearing. You’ve got a super product, thanks for carrying it.

Love these boots! They are very durable and comfortable. They do run large though, so I always order a smaller size.
Capster –
Excellent! Took a pair to Ireland with me! These shoes can handle any kind of weather! I normally wear an 8; a 7.5 fit me perfectly!
Haybuddy –
I love these… the last pair I bought are 10 years old and still not worn out… I wear them literally every day and are not really worn out… just preparing for that time
Christina –
Run big. Be sure to follow I wear 9.5 and in these boots I wear an 8. These are my second pair and they are perfect to wear on a rainy day.
Lisa M –
Perfect fit, true to size, and comfortable. So handy to slip on rainy days.

Ordered a size 10 initially which was huge! Exchanged for a size 9. Fits perfectly. Btw, I usually order 10. So, I would highly recommend smaller size.

Women’s boot size purchased for a male with narrow foot width… too bad size is discontinued

These are fantastic! Every year when it’s raining/slushy, I find myself wondering why I don’t have cute – but functional – rain boots when I find myself wearing a part of mocs or sneakers that are about to be thrown away? My 8″ bean boots definitely wouldn’t work on warmer spring wet days, so I ordered these when there was a sale one weekend. I am usually a 10M – so 9M in Bean Boots – but found the 9 to be roomy when they arrived. I have 3 stores around Boston, so I went in and tried an 8.5M on in the store – that was a perfect fit for me. The pink color wasn’t available, but they shipped the next business day, and I had them the following day. Perfect timing for this rainy week, and the insole is nicely padded!!
Reddish –
Great garden shoes that look good enough to wear into town. Buy a size smaller than you normally wear and grab socks.
Gloria –
love love love them….great colors, not very heavy and true to size fit. I have 3 colors !!
ERRO –
Follow the guidelines provided for size, i went a half size down and was perfect
Mary –
I love these! They are so great for the weather in Ireland.

These boots are SO comfortable! I am sold, a fan for life! This is all I want to wear! I do wish they were a little more slip resistant on the ice, but have no complaints.
